Gas notes for builders
LitVM is an Arbitrum Orbit chain. Gas accounting differs from L1 Ethereum: L2 gas is cheap and abundant, but every tx pays an L1 data-availability surcharge that is reflected in baseFeePerGas.
The gas_limit on every block is 1.125e15 (2^50), an Orbit-specific value. Network utilization shown across the explorer is computed against this cap; in practice you will see <1% utilization at all times because Orbit pre-allocates massive headroom.
For best UX, set maxFeePerGas to fast × 2 and maxPriorityFeePerGas to 0. The sequencer does not run a priority-fee auction on a single-sequencer Orbit deployment.
